Who We Are
My name is Tim Crawford and I’ve been a Colorado resident since 1978. I picked up the guitar at age 15 and immediately fell in love with the instrument. After moving to Colorado, I was fortunate to study under master jazz guitarist Dale Bruning. I’m a lifelong student of the instrument and have played professionally off and on for 43 years.
I built my first guitar in 1980 after attending a course with noted luthier Max Krimmel. Over the years, I’ve built a variety of custom instruments, from solid body five string electric mandolins to electric basses, but mostly acoustic steel string guitars. I use my experience as a player to guide my decisions as a designer, but each instrument is ultimately designed for the needs of a specific player.
As a player, I understand the importance of tone and creating your own unique voice. In the electric guitar world, the amp plays an integral role. In the early 2000’s I began building amps, using only the highest quality components and construction techniques. My starting point was the 1959 Fender Bassman circuit. I build them one at a time, so no two amps are exactly the same. The amps, like my guitars, are uniquely designed for the specific player.
